Tolstoy achieved awakening of all creative opportunities of the pupil, using thus not coercion, but excitement of interest of the pupil. Excitement of interest in training is a strengthening of multilateral intellectual and moral influence on the basis of attention to the identity of the pupil. Such careful, respect for the child helps to open all his creative power, abilities, tendencies.
In development of creative abilities of pupils, according to Tolstoy, children's compositions are of great importance. Considered creative works and compositions of pupils of L. N. Tolstaya as one of the brightest forms of communication of training with life. In any subject he recommended to practice already from the very beginning of training small compositions.
Tolstoy paid much attention to disclosure of essence of the principle of freedom in education and training of children, having proposed the solution. Already at an early stage of formation of pedagogical views of Tolstaya specified that it is necessary to study main "" pedagogics - freedom:
Well-known " freedoms" Tolstoy follows from his philosophical reasonings on freedom of the person, will of the personality and independence. Why Tolstoy of the pedagogical concept regarded the principle of freedom of spirit and a choice as of paramount importance, but not any other postulate?
In the article "About National Education" (1874 guo Tolstaya wrote: "In that thought that successful training requires not coercion, but excitement of interest of the pupil, all teachers of school opposite to me agree. A difference between us only that that this situation that the doctrine has to excite interest of the child, at them is mislaid among others, contradicting this provision on development of which they are sure and to which force; whereas I excitement of interest in the pupil, and therefore ease and naturalness of the doctrine consider the most possible simplification as the main and only criterion of the good and bad doctrine". At first it is necessary to consider concept of will and independence. Independence is one of the most important qualities of the person, a basis of his spiritual development, self-improvement. Independence it is not simple ability to carry out any activity without the aid of people around, but, first of all, ability to find a support in life in itself, self-confidence, independence, ability to make an own choice. In independence the strong-willed beginning of the person is shown.
